Prof. Stanislaw Grabski, chairman of the Polish National Council, is in receipt today of a demand that a special session of the parliament-in-exile be convened to discuss immediate measures to rescue the remnants of Polish Jewry.

The demand was incorporated in a communication sent to Prof. Grabski by Emanuel Szerer, one of the two Jewish deputies in the Council. Mr. Szerer said that the contributions by Polish Jews to the underground struggle to liberate the country from the Nazis justifies special action in their behalf.

The other Jewish deputy in the Council, Ignacy Schwarzbart, today broadcast to the Jews of his homeland over the British Broadcasting Company’s facilities, assuring them that the United Nations are constantly being appealed to for measures to halt the enemy’s annihilation of Jews and other civilians. The Jewish deputy expressed thanks to the Poles within the country for the assistance they have given the Jews and voiced the hope that this unity will continue.
