Australian Labor Party Rejects Resolution Asking Jewish Participation at Peace Talks

Download PDF for this date

Although it has in the past voiced its opposition to anti-Semitism, the Australian Labor Party yesterday rejected a proposal that it endorse a resolution advocating that Jews, as such, be represented at the peace conference.

The resolution had also demanded that the Labor Party, which is holding its triennial conference in Canberra, condemn the inhuman treatment of Jews and other oppressed peoples in Europe and voice its opposition to racial discrimination. An emergency meeting of the Australian Zionist Federation has been called for Monday to discuss the Labor Party’s action.
