Jews in Bulgaria Given Two Months to Change Bulgarian-sounding Names

Jews in Bulgaria were today given two months to change their Bulgarian-sounding names to Jewish-sounding ones, the Sofia radio reports. Jews affected by this order must make the necessary corrections in their identification documents no later than April 1, the broadcast said.

The Bucharest radio reports that three Jews, including a woman, were executed last week. The name of the woman was given as Shulamith Moskowitch, “daughter of a famous Jewish millionaire.” The other two executed Jews were Ber Kudrach and Clemens Rosenblatt, both from Cernauti. They were accused of “pretending to be policemen,” the broadcast announced.
