A bill establishing a state board on fair employment practice and defining unfair and discriminatory practices which will be punishable, was introduced in the New York State Senate and Assembly today. Sponsors of the measure are Senator William Condon, chairman of the upper house’s Committee on Labor and Industry, and Assemblymen Robert J. Crews.

The bill, which was drawn up by the American Jewish Congress, recognizes for the first time in the history of New York State the right to work as a civil right of every citizen, regardless of race, color or religion.
