Dr. Stepehn S. Wise was the guest of honor tonight at a dinner at the waldorf Astoria Hotel given by the Jewish Institue of Religion to mark Dr. Wise’s 70th birthday, which he will celebrate on Friday. The Institute was founded by Dr. Wise. Speakers included Rabbi Philip S. Bernatein, executive director of the Army and Navy Religious Activities of the Jewish Welfare Board, Chaplain Norton Berman, USNR, and Dr. Wise.
