Rothstein Named President of United Synagogue; Convention Asks End to White Paper

Samuel M. Rothstein of Brooklyn, New York was elected president of the United Synagogue of America today at the concluding session of the organization’s 30th convention. He succeeds Louis Moss who was named honorary president. The convention adopted resolutions demanding the abrogation of the Palestine White Paper and the establishment of a Jewish Commonwealth there; supporting the American Jewish Conference; and establishing the Junior Synagogue of America to cooperate with other youth groups in coping with the problem of juvenile delinquency.
