The Central Trades and Labor Council of the City of New York, representing 700 trade unions and almost a million American Federation of labor members, adopted a resolution today urging the American British Governments to bring about the immediate unequivocal repeal of the entire White Paper policy,” which prohibits further Jewish immigration into Palestine.

The resolution demanded a new policy for Palestine, “consistent with the tragic needs of the Jewish people and the magnificent contribution made by the Jewish workers of Palestine to the war effort of the United Nations.” The measure also urged that the Jewish people be given “equal status among the free nations of the world in the international planning for postwar settlement and rehabilitation.”
