Resolutions urging full implementation of the Balfour Declaration by the establishment of a Jewish Commonwealth in Palestine and hailing the establishment of a “free port” by President Roosevelt for the temporary shelter of refugees, were adopted here at the closing session of the 44th annual convention of the Rabbinical Assembly of America, the central body of the Conservative rabbinate.

The convention, which met at Camp Delawaxen, also passed a resolution expressing gratification at the improved relations between the Russian and American people. Memorial services were held for Chaplain henry Goody, a member of the Assembly, who perished when an army transport was sunk in the Atlantic last October.
