The United Nations monetary conference which is taking place here has decided to admit a representative of the UNRRA on the assumption that the UNRRA and the Bank for Reconstruction will have to work closely together.
An American expert at the conference said: “The UNRRA and the Bank for Reconstruction will have to dovetail their activities and may in many cases be complimentary in their function.”
It is taken for granted here that the UNRRA may initiate as relief measures various projects which the Bank will then want to finance for permanent reconstruction. In some cases, where the UNRRA may be unable to finance emergency reconstruction projects, it may call upon the bank for financial aid, it is foreseen here.
