ROME (Jul. 17)
Allied authorities in the liberated sections of Italy are gradually restoring to the Jews of Rome the rights which were taken from them either during the nine months the germans held the city or during the Mussolini regime.
Today telephone employees began re-installing phones in the homes of 800 Jews who were barred from possessing telephones under an order issued by the Germans in January. For two years previous to that the Jews were permitted to retain their phones but were not listed in the directory.
