Eliahu Ben-Horin, close collaborator of the late Vladimir Jabotinsky and a member of the World Presidency of the New Zionist Organization for the last eight years, today announced that he has resigned from that organization.
“I wish to emphasize that this step was caused neither by ideological dissension nor by personal conflict,” he said in a statement issued here, “but by a conviction that under the changed war and post-war conditions the best interests of Zionism imperatively demand a full unification of all its vital forces. The war catastrophe has brought about a very considerable rapprochement between different parties in Zionism. To continue warning the petty hatreds and suspicions of yesterday, without taking account of what is happening and likely to happen in the world, might be fatal for the Jewish cause.”
