The British Government today informed the Jewish Agency for Palestine that it has authorized the design submitted by the Agency for a flag for the Jewish Brigade.

The banner will have two horizontal blue stripes on a white background with a blue Star of David in the center. A blue-white-blue shoulder flash with a golden Star of David has also been authorized. Above the flash will be the designation “Jewish Brigade” in white letters on a khaki background and also the Hebrew initials for “Jewish Fighting Formation.”

Several designs for the Brigade flag are said to have been considered by the British military authorities, including one incorporating the Union Jack. It is understood, however, that preference was given to the design submitted by the Jewish Agency since the Jewish Brigade will, under any circumstances, fight under British.
