Palestine police officers arrived here today to assist in the investigation of the murder of Lord Moyne, British Resident Minister in the Middle East, by two gunmen.

Although the identity of the assassins has not been disclosed, it is reported that they spoke Hebrew. It is understood that they are continuing to refuse to give any explanation of their act, and have demanded that they be tried immediately.

Great consternation has been caused in Cairo Jewish circles by the report that the gunmen are Jewish. A prominent Zionist told the JTA that “this is the greatest disaster that ever hit us. No anti-Zionist, or anti-Semite, could have thought up a better way of trying to discredit us.”
