The American Federation of Labor, at its 64th annual convention here, adopted a special committee report instructing its president, William Green, “to call upon the President of the United States to use his good offices to the end that the declaration made concerning the establishment of Palestine as a free and democratic Jewish commonwealth be implemented, the pledges made be fulfilled, and the Government of the United States assume its share of responsibility in the carrying out of the pledges and assurances given.”

The convention also adopted a resolution sending greetings to the Histadruth, the Palestine Federation of Labor. “The American Federation of Labor has always had deep respect for and a feeling of kinship with the Histadruth and has during the past years supported the program so admirably carried out by the American Jewish Trade Union Committee for Palestine,” the resolution says.
