President Roosevelt in a message to the Aufbau, American-Jewish weekly newspaper in German and in English, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this week, lauded the publication as voicing “the aspirations of men and women eager to learn the meaning, the opportunities and responsibilities of free citizenship in a free America.” Vice-President Henry A. Wallace and five members of the President’s Cabinet also sent messages of congratulation to the Aufbau.

Dedicated to the achievements of immigrants since 1933, the anniversary issue gives a comprehensive survey of what the new and prospective citizens have contributed to the home and war fronts, and what they have achieved in the literary, scientific and commercial fields.
