Germans Interned in America to Be Exchanged for Civilians Interned in Germany

An exchange is now in progress of 850 German internees in this country for a similar number of interned civilians in Germany, it was revealed hare today by the State Department.

The group of internees to be released from camps in Germany includes 75 Jews in the Bergen-Belzen concentration camp who are holders of Latin American passports. The seventy-five Jews to be exchanged were selected by the German authorities from a list of 632 Jews held in the Bergen-Belzen camp who possess passports of American countries. The names of those to be released are not yet available here.
