Norman S. Goetz, long a leader in the civic and philanthropic life of this city, was elected president of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York at a meeting of the Board of Trustees at the Federation Building. Mr. Goetz served as chairman of the annual Federation appeals in 1942 and 1943. He succeeds George Z. Medalie, who was president for four consecutive terms.
