The fund raising appeal of the Jewish Education Committee, a city-wide agency serving 500 Jewish schools, will be incorporated into the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York, largest voluntary philanthropic organization in the world, it was announced today by Federation president Norman S. Goetz and Samuel S. Schneierson, president of the Jewish Education Committee. The move is aimed at strenghtening the facilities for Jewish education in New York City.

A joint statement issued by Mr. Goetz and Mr. Schneierson declared: “The absorption of the fund raising appeal of the Jewish Education Committee by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York is a great step forward in the further unification of Jewish philanthropic work. We are sure it will deepen the cooperative spirit that exists among us, and that supporters of the Jewish Education Committee will contribute just as generously of their time and money to Federation as they did to past fund drives of the Committee. We are confident that the action will serve inmeasurably to strenghten Jewish educational work in the city.”
