Forty Jews Leave Palestine for United States; Severely Criticised by Hebrew Press

The Spanish steamer Plus Ultra, which brought over 500 Jewish refugees to Palestine this week, left here today carrying 40 Palestine residents bound for the United States.

The Hebrew press has been railing recently against persons who came here under the White Paper quota, using precious immigration certificates, and are now leaving for other countries.

Eliahu Dobkin, immigration chief of the Jewish Agency, is flying to France tomorrow to arrange the emigration of Jews planning to come to Palestine, it was announced today.

A meeting of the Maccabi Organization today voted to send a delegation to the United Kingdom and the United States to revive the Maccabi movement in these countries.
