The “Yishuv Education Committee,” consisting of representatives of all Jewish parties, met here today and issued a statement welcoming the appointment by the Colonial Office of a commission to investigate the administrative machinery of the Jewish school system in Palestine. The committee said it would extend all possible assistance and cooperation to the investigating body.

Eliahu Dobkin, immigration chief of the Jewish Agency, told a press conference today that 1,600 immigrants had entered Palestine in August and 2,000 were expected this month.
