Jerusalem (Sep. 11)
The entire Hebrew press today mourns the death of Alexander Siskind Rabinowitz, noted Hebrew writer and oldest novelist in Palestine, who died here at the age of 92.
Born in Russia, he came to Palestine in 1905 and was one of the first leaders of the Jewish workers in the country. He was one of the founders of the Poale-Zion Party in Russia. Six volumes of his collected works were published in Tel Aviv from 1934 to 1936. Many of his works were also published in Poland and in other countries.
