Denying persistent reports that the Government had decided to drop the case against the 29 seditionists whose trial came to an abrupt and early this year when the presiding judge died, Attorney General Tom Clark said today that “the case is not closed.” He would make no further comment.
From other sources it was learned that the prosecutor of the seditionists, O. John Rogge, is seeking evidence from captured Nazis in Europe to bolster his case. However, it is understood that all of the defendants will not be re-tried.
