Abraham Herman, president and Isaac L. Asofsky, executive director, of HIAS, are en route to Europe on the Queen Mary for a tour of the European offices of the organization to observe at first hand the functioning of HIAS resoue and assistance activities on behalf of displaced European Jews.

They will consult with the staffs of their European offices on expanding the organization’s location service, which traces the scattered members of Jewish families deported by the Germans, and will also lay plans for expansion of HIAS’ technical and financial assistance to displaced Jews who cannot return to their former homes and who seek to emigrate to other countries.
