The expected British Government statement on Palestine in the House of Commons will not be made by Prime Minister Attlee, but by Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin, it was authoritatively learned here today.
It was indicated that Bevin may limit himself to a brief reference to the measure of accord said to have been reached between Britain and America on the subject of a new approach to the Palestine problem, but will not disclose any details of the proposals. Bevin is expected to make his statement either before Attlee leaves for the United States on Nov. 9, or during Attlee’s absence in America, it was reported.
