Situation of Displaced Persons in Germany Improving, Says Eisenhower’s Deputy

Lt. Gen. Lucius D. Clay, deputy military goernment of the United States Zone of occupation in Germany, declared today that displaced persons in camps in the American zone are “doing alright.” Answering questions at a press conference, Gen. Clay said that in the areas where provision has been made for mass feeding, clothing and general care, the displaced persons are housed comfortably and adequately fed.
