Colonel Morris J, Mendelschn, president of the Zionist Organization of America, today issued a statement attacking Foreign Minister Jevin’s declaration of policy on Palestine as anti-Semitic, imperialist, and war-breeding, and calling upon "all loyal Jewish groups to repudiate" the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry and not to cooperate with it.

The statement stresses that Britain and America supported the independence of Syria without any investigation, and even imposed a minority Moslem government upon a Bristian majority in Lebanon. It accuses Britain of "instigating Arab fanaticism."

A delegation of the American League for Free Palestine left today for London. the delegation, consisting of former Senator Guy M. Gillette, Rap. Andrew L. Somers and J. David Stern, issued a statement, prior to its departure, approving American participation in the joint Anglo-American committee of inquiry, but stressing the fact that no time must be lost in rescuing the former inmates of the concentration camps who are inadequately housed and clothed for the coming winter. It expressed the hope that "American Liberty ships will soon carry them to safety and dignity in their own homeland."

While emphasizing that the task of impressing upon the British people the urgency of opening Palestine to the Jews in Germany and Austria without any restrictions would be the first aim of the delegation, the statement declares that the delegation will press for "a full and integral solution" of the entire Jewish problem and will demand that Jews be granted the right of self-determination.

"Our delegation will back the proposals of the Hebrew Committee of National destination which distinguish between the status of people of many lands who are of Jewish faith and the status of the Hebrews of Europe and Palestine who regard themselves as members of the Hebrew nation," the statement says. "It is also proposed that in the interim period Palestine be placed under a United Nations trusteeship and that the UNO supervise and assist in the repatriation of the Hebrews and in preparing the country for the exercise of this freedom."
