A Jewish delegation today proposed to Minister of Agriculture S. L. Mansholt that the Wieringen colony, where Jewish refugees from Germany were trained before the war for agricultural work in Palestine, should again be used for this purpose.

The delegation emphasized that several hundred displaced Jews now in camps in Germany could be brought to Wieringen and trained prior to their departure for Palestine. The minister told the delegation that he approved, in principle, the proposal and will bring it up before a meeting of the Cabinet where he will urge its acceptance.
