Three new Jewish settlements were founded yesterday in Palestine on land of the Jewish National Fund, it was announced here today by Dr. Abraham Granovsky, chairman of the J.N.F. board, who is now on a visit to this country.
“These new settlements,” Dr. Granovsky said, “are evidence that the expansion and strengthening of the land foundation of the Jewish National Home is proceeding ‘according to a plan,’ notwithstanding the political struggle and disturbed conditions.”
The three new settlements, in addition to five new villages founded since the beginning of the new Hebrew year, are part of an extensive settlement program for the current year, which envisages the founding of 15 new villages on the land of the JNF.” American Jews who manifest an ever-growing appreciation of the urgency of the JNF’s task will, I am confident, derive new hope and impetus in their work for the cause of Palestine land redemption,” Dr. Granovsky said.
