Two Jewish prisoners were killed and twelve wounded during a disturbance yesterday in the internment camp at Eritrea to which over 300 Jews from Palestine have been deported in the past fifteen months, it was announced today by British military headquarters here. The official announcement said that an inquiry into the disturbance would be held, but gave no other details.

The Eritrean camp was established in Oct., 1944, when 251 terrorist suspects were deported there. Last January the detainees were moved to a camp in the Sudan, following protests in Palestine against the conditions in Eritrea. However, in October, they were moved back to Eritrea, without explanation. At intervals, since the first deportations, small groups have been sent to the camp, and a few of the prisoners allowed returning home. The present population of 300 is the largest number ever detained there at one time.

The last contingent of Jews to be sent to Eritrea from Palestine, totaling 55, were deported last Dec. 20, after a pitched battle in the Latrun jail in Palestine between British police and troops and Jewish political prisoners.
