The request of the Arab representatives at the UNO Assembly for an “informal meeting” with members of the Anglo-American Committee of Inquiry on Palestine was linked today to the activities of George Wadsworth, who last September was appointed United States Minister to Syria and Lebanon and who is serving here as a State Department advisor to the American UNO delegation.

Since his arrival here on Jan. 6, Mr. Wadsworth has been advocating an off-the-record session between the Palestine committee members and the representatives of the Arab states–Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
