A fascist band whose membership consisted chiefly of anti-Semites who were prominent in the pro-Nazi Slovakian regime has been uncovered by Slovak political police, it is reported here today.
Antonin Kahinant and Frantishek Szabo, two leaders of the gang, who have been arrested and charged with treason, were active anti-Semites as early as 1939, when they refused to be photographed with Jewish schoolmates in a school at Nitra, and insisted upon the segregation of Jewish students in classrooms.
The executive council of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Bohemia and Moravia has asked for an audience with President Eduard Benes, Minister for Foreign Affairs Jan Masaryk, and Minister of the Interior Vaclav Nosek, it was learned here. The council plans to discuss current injustices against the Jews and to ask for governmental action to remedy the situation.
