Prime Minister Clement Attlee will make a statement on Palestine in the House of Commons, possibly on Thursday, it was authoritatively learned today. However, he will not have anything to say on Britain’s reaction to the Anglo-American inquiry committee’s report nor on its recommendation that 100,000 Jews be admitted to Palestine, it was indicated.
It was officially announced today that the British Government has received observations on the committee report, which it requested from all the states of the Arab League and the Jewish Agency. The next step will be further consultations between the British and U.S. Governments based on the Jewish and Arab reactions, the announcement said.
