A spokesman for the British Embassy has assured representatives of the Hebrew Committee of Liberation that British Ambassador Lord Inverchapel will forward to Sir Evelyn Barker, British commander in Palestine, the Committee’s appeal for clemency for two members of the Irgun Zvai Leumi who have been sentenced to death by a military court for participation in an attack on a British military camp, it was announced here today. Last week, the Committee sent cables to Gen. Barker requesting commutation of the death sentences to life imprisonment.
