The Irgun Zvai Leumi and the Stern Group, the extremist wings of the Jewish resistance movement in Palestine, “have not lost a single gun or a single man to the British” in recent operations on Palestine, according to Peter Bergson, chairman of the Hebrew Committee of National Liberation. Bergson made this statement to a press conference today on the basis of an alleged report from the underground forces in Palestine received by his group.
Samuel Merlin, secretary general of the Liberation Committee, revealed today that he has sent a cablegram to David Ben Gurion, chairman of the executive of the Jewish Agency, urging him to ask all British members of the Agency to renounce their British citizenship or resign immediately.
