Establishment of an International Council of Christians and Jews was endorsed yesterday at a meeting of the board of directors of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, after they heard a report of the conference held at Oxford in August, at which the plan for a world-wide inter-faith council was first suggested.
The board adopted a budget of $2,000,000 to finance the activities of the National Conference in 1947. It was announced that Lessing J. Rosenwald, president of the American Council of Judaism, has contributed $10,000 to help organize the international council.
