Dr. Nahum Goldmann, when asked today by the Jewish telegraphic Agency to comment on the decision of the political committee of the convention of the Zionist Organization of America not to invite him as a speaker, made the following statement:

“I have no intention to enter into a press polemic with Dr. Abba Hillel Silver and his attacks on me. I only want to state that Dr. Silver had refused to face an open discussion with me on the floor of the ZOA convention and rejected twice a motion both in the political committee and on the floor of the convention, to invite me to report to the convention. Dr. Silver had previously declined to call a meeting of the Zionist Emergency Council, as requested by the Committee of Eight, which represents the Jewish Agency executive in the U.S.A., for the purpose of receiving my report.”
