The Palestine Government may release the detained members of the Jewish Agency-executive on Monday, it was learned here today. Official circles refused to confirm the date of the release, but indicated that there is “a reasonable possibility” that they will be freed shortly.
The government today informed the Nathanya municipality that it has suspended its grant-in-aid to the Jewish township as a result of the municipality’s contribution to the fund initiated by the Vaad Leumi to aid “unauthorized” Jewish immigration.
Two new Jewish settlements were established in Palestine yesterday bringing the number of Jewish colonies established during the past month to 16. One of the new settlements is situated on the site of the Biblical city of Daberath, along the strategic road to Demascus, which is mentioned in the Book of Joshua. The bulk of the settlers are veterans of the British Army.
