Jewish refugees en route from the American zone of Austria to Bolivia yesterday staged a sit-down strike on the railroad tracks at Bregenz, on the border of the French zone.

The French authorities claimed that the refugees’ visas were not in order and refused to pass the train. A number of Jews climbed out of the train and sat on the tracks with their baggage. However, they were forced by American and French military police to return to the train which then started back to Salzburg.
