Charges of breach of the peace, brought by a Jewish veteran, Alexander H. Blacke, against Duke Pile, a speaker at a recent anti-Semite meeting in the East End of London, were yesterday adjourned for a week.

Blacke and two other Jewish veterans testified that the defendant demanded that all Jewish schools, clubs and synagogues be searched immediately for arms which Pile asserted the Jews hid there for eventual use against the English people. The witnesses also testified that Pile called for the burning down of synegogues and that the audience took up the cry and also shouted: “Kill the Jews.” Pile denied the charges and will call Scotland Yard officials to testify in his behalf. A Scotland Yard agent took shorthand notes of his entire speech at the meeting.

Left-wing M.P.’s will ask the government to take action against anti-Semitic activities in Britain, when Parliament reconvenes, it was learned today. Denis N. Pritt, Independent Labor, will urge the government to curb publications “glorifying Hitler,” while Philip Piratin, Communist M.P., will demand a statement on attacks on synagogues and assurances that precautions have been taken to prevent repetition of such incidents.
