Cultural Rehabilitation of Europe’s Jews Discussed at Conference Callied by UNESCO

The revival of Jewish cultural life in Europe was discussed here this week at a meeting of international voluntary organizations convened by the Cultural Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Section of the United Nations Economic, Scial and cultural Organization.

Among the 100 organizations attending the conference were the follwing Jewish groups:World Jewish congress, British Jewish Committee for Relief Abroad, the ORT, OSE, Youth Aliyah and the World Union of Jewish Students.

The World Jewish Congress representatives, Dr. A.A. Steinberg and Mrs. A.R. Xlausner, urged that UNESCO grant funds for cultural rehabilitation not only to states, but to cultural groups operating in more than one country. The ORT delegate, Dr. M.R. Lang, told the delegates of the great needs of the displaced Jews.
