BUDAPEST (Feb. 24)
A resolution urging the unification of the major parties in the Jewish community was adopted here today at a mass meeting called by the Hungarian Jewish Society, largest Jewish cultural organization in the country. Another resolution expressed support for the Jews in Palestine.
Lajos Stoekler, president of the Central Board of Hungarian Jews, reviewed the developments in Jewish life in Hungary during the last two years. He pointed out that as a result of increasing unity and of aid from Jews abroad, Hungarian Jews were today organized in one of the most advanced Jewish communities in Europe. The meeting also expressed thanks to Jews abroad for their assistance and interest during the war years and since the liberation, and paid tribute to the liberating armies of the Allied powers.
