Ek-colonial Secretary Confers with Weizmann on Palestine Issue; Favors Partition

Former Colonial Secretary Leopold Amery arrived here today and discussed with Dr. Chaim Weizmann the present situation in Palestine as well as certain aspects of a plan to settle the Palestine problem on the basis of partition, reportedly emanating from the Conservative Party of which he is a leading member.

Following the meeting with Dr. Weizmann, Colonal Amery left for Auman, capital of Tranejordan, where he will meet with King Abdullah and then proceed to Iraq. In connection with his arrival here it is being rumored that he undertook the trip through the Middle East at the advice of Winston Churchill and other leaders of the Conservative Party.
