Czechoslovak Parliamentary Committee Investigating Seizure of Jewish-owned Piant

A Czechoslovak parliamentary committee has begun investigating the confiscation of a factory owned by Emil Beer, Jewish industrialist, which was seized last week following a strike by workers at the plant who charged Beer with having participated in the “Germanizing” of Czech industry.

Meanwhile, the Central Council of Czech Trade Unions which called the strike has rejected a protest from the Federation of Jewish Community Councils of Czechoslovakia. Stating that the trade unions are attempting to wipe out the remnants of anti-Semitism, the Council objected to the Federation’s protecting “capitalists.” (See later story from New York on page 4.)
