With appropriation for April reaching $6,117,000, the JDC announced today that its allocations during the first four months of 1947 totalled $29,872,000–the largest sum ever expended in any four-month period in the history of the organization.
The announcement pointed out that the April appropriation will aid distressed Jews in more than 30 countries on three continents, including a special project for tubercular Jews who will be supported in sanitaria in Switzerland, Italy and other countries.
