Foreign Office Believes Britain, U.S. Can Beat Down Demand for Full Debate

Foreign Office circles here expressed confidence that the United States and British delegations would be able to head off Arab attempts to force a full debate on the Palestine subject at Flushing Meadows. Nevertheless, they insist that the two governments have not consulted on the forthcoming session and say that although they may agree on procedural matters they may differ widely on questions of substance. They also state that regardless of what is said at Flushing, Britain’s diplomatic and naval campaign to prevent further visaless immigration will continue.
