The Anglo-French conference on Jewish migration, which is currently meeting here, has decided to add a new item to its agenda, which provides for the establishment of fixed quotas on the numbers of DP’s allowed to enter France from the four zones of Germany and Austria.

While maintaining the principle laid down in a previous agreement, that no more than 8,000 DP’s shall be permitted to remain in France at any one time, the new proposal specifies that the number of DP’s be split up proportionately among the various zones. This is obviously aimed at curbing an influx of displaced Jews from the American zone en route to Palestine.
