A Senate Labor and Public Welfare Committee to(##) reported favorably, by a 4 – 1 vote, and returned to the full committee, the (##)s-Chavez bill to outlaw discrimination in employment.
In a statement issued by Subcommittee Chairman Forrest C. Donnell, Missouri publican, it was recommended that the bill be returned to the full committee “with (##) statement that the Subcommittee favors the general purposes of the bill, “but commending that the full committee “give further study to the provisions of the (##)” Donnell also pointed out that Senators Irving M. Ives, New York Republican, (##) James E. Murray, Democrat of Montana, favor the bill in its present ferm.
