Jews in Argentina Moving Toward Unity, Dr. Liscovich, Cordoba Jewish Leader, Reports

The Jews in Argentina are moving toward greater unity as a result of the present situation of the Jews in Europe and Palestine, and under the influence of U.S. Jewry, Dr. Leon Liscovich, prominent Argentine Jewish leader, reported here today.

Dr. Liscovich was one of the principal delegates to a Pan-American medical congress which was held last week in Washington and at which he read a paper on nutrition. He was also a delegate to the International Congress of Pediatrics which took place in New York.

Born in Argentina, in one of the Jewish colonies in Entre Rios, Dr. Liscovich is active in Jewish community life in Cordoba where he now resides. “Jewish youth in Argentina is now becoming interested in Jewish problems to a greater extent than ever before, ” he said. He emphasized that he was especially impressed with what he saw of Jewish life in the United States.
