German Pilots Alerted to Bring in Exodus Transports Reported Nearing Hamburg

Several German pilots have been alerted and quarantined inside Cuxhaven Harbor in anticipation of the arrival of the three ships caring the Exodus refugees which were reported today to be nearing Hamburg.

Each pilot is accompanied by a British officer to prevent any contact between him and the Jews and to apprehend any messages which the refugees may attempt to ?ss to the pilots. The disembarkation is expected to begin Saturday or Sunday. Intelligence officers will screen the passengers for suspected extremists.

The executive council of the Central Committee of Jews in the British zone is getting in Belsen reportedly to work out a protest to the authorities over condition in the camps being prepared for the refugees and to urge that the Germans currently employed there be removed. The Committee has expressed its willingness to ? the ill among the Jews.
