Members of a Congressional investigating team which left this morning for Europe to investigate the operation of the U.S. information Service there, have been given questionnaires posing 17 questions about the displaced persons problem and have been asked to look over that field. The questionnaires were prepared by Sen. H. Alexander Smith of New Jersey, one of the sponsors of legislation to permit the entry into the U.S. of 400,000 DP’s over a four-year period.
The special Senate Committee investigating immigration problems will probable leave for Europe about the first of October, a committee aide said today. It is leaded by Sen. Chapman Revercomb, Republican of West Virginia, who has been an apponent of liberalized immigration regulations.
